Snapshots Cloud — Start here

Snapshots is a Confluence Cloud app that captures Jira data at a specific moment and embeds it in a Confluence page as a static, editable, comparable record. Use it whenever you need a stable view of Jira issues — for status reports, release documentation, audit evidence, customer updates, sign-offs — instead of a live view that drifts as the underlying issues change.

This manual covers how to install, use, administer, and troubleshoot Snapshots. Pick the entry point that matches what you're trying to do.

I'm new to Snapshots and want to try it

Start with Get started. It walks you through:

  1. Installing Snapshots on Confluence and Access Agent on Jira.

  2. Taking your first snapshot, either from a Jira search or from a Confluence page.

  3. Understanding the small set of concepts — static data, page versions, comparison — that make Snapshots predictable.

Allow about 15 minutes from a clean install to a working first snapshot.

I want to do something specific with Snapshots

Go to the User guide. It's organized by what you're trying to do:

  • Configure a snapshot (multi-level hierarchies, fields, grouping, layout, scrolling for large tables, placeholders).

  • Read and explore a snapshot (filter and sort on the page, export to Excel, mark notable versions with stickers).

  • Automate snapshots (trigger refreshes from Jira automation, Confluence automation, CI/CD pipelines).

I'm administering Snapshots for my organization

Go to the Admin guide. It covers:

  • Configuring the Jira connection and site-wide defaults.

  • Permissions: who can view snapshots, who can take new ones, and how to share refresh capability with non-editors.

  • Disabling Snapshots for specific spaces.

  • Site-level automation controls and the global API key.

  • Backing up Snapshots metadata and migrating between Atlassian sites.

I'm evaluating Snapshots from a security or compliance perspective

Go to Trust, data and security. It explains where snapshot data lives, what infrastructure Snapshots itself uses, how data residency is preserved, and what's involved in backup and migration.

Something is not working as expected

Go to Troubleshooting. Common issues — 429 errors during snapshot retrieval, stale Jira data, connection problems — each have a focused page with symptoms, cause, and resolution.

If you can't find your issue, contact us at support@radbee.com (see Support for response-time expectations).

I want to integrate Snapshots with another tool

Go to Integrations. The page lists which Atlassian Marketplace apps and third-party tools have first-class support: Xray Test Management for Jira, K15t Scroll PDF Exporter, Jira Automation, Confluence Automation, GitHub Actions.

What Snapshots is not

Snapshots is not a live mirror of Jira. The data on a Snapshots page reflects Jira as it was at the moment of the most recent snapshot — by design. If you need a live view that updates as Jira changes, the standard Jira macros built into Confluence are a better fit. Snapshots is for the cases where you want the data to be frozen: a stable record you can hand off, archive, sign off on, or compare against later.
