Snapshots for TestRail Data into Confluence is an extension to the Snapshots of Jira Data into Confluence app. It lets you embed TestRail data — test plans, test runs, test cases, and their results — into Confluence pages, with the same capture, version, and compare model as the base Snapshots app.
Prerequisite. You need Snapshots of Jira Data into Confluence installed on Confluence before this extension does anything. The extension adds a TestRail level type to that app's Snapshots macro.
I'm evaluating Snapshots with TestRail integration
Read Integration with TestRail for a one-page overview of what the extension provides — what TestRail data flows through, how it combines with Jira data, and what's in scope.
Then, if you want to try it on your own site, install both apps from the Atlassian Marketplace:
-
Snapshots of Jira Data into Confluence (the base app)
-
Snapshots for TestRail Data into Confluence (this extension)
Both have free trials.
I'm ready to install and connect TestRail
Go to Configuring the TestRail connection. It walks an administrator through installing the extension, generating an API key in TestRail Cloud, and plugging the credentials into Snapshots.
The integration supports TestRail Cloud only — sites whose URL ends in .testrail.io. TestRail Server is not supported.
I want to use TestRail data in my snapshots
Go to Adding TestRail data to snapshots. It covers the new TestRail level type in the Snapshots macro: choosing a root entity (Test Plans, Test Runs & Results, or Test Cases), filtering, picking fields, the available sublayers, and how to combine a TestRail level with Jira data in the same snapshot.
Trust and security
Go to Trust, data and security. It explains where snapshot data lives, what infrastructure Snapshots itself uses, how data residency is preserved, and what's involved in backup and migration. The same model applies whether your snapshots are pulling from Jira, TestRail, or both.
The full Snapshots manual
The TestRail extension is documented as part of the broader Snapshots manual. For everything else — installing the base app, taking your first snapshot, multi-level snapshots, permissions, automation, comparison, exporting to Excel, troubleshooting — go to the main manual:
