Snapshots Integration with Xray (Traceability Extensions) is an extension to the Snapshots of Jira Data into Confluence app. It lets you embed Xray test data — test types, steps, scenarios, Gherkin definitions, test runs, and detailed test reports — into Confluence pages, with the same capture, version, and compare model as the base Snapshots app.
Prerequisites. You need Snapshots of Jira Data into Confluence installed on Confluence, and Xray Test Management installed on the connected Jira Cloud site. The extension adds Xray-specific fields and a Test Runs level type to the Snapshots macro, plus a separate Snapshots Test Report macro for detailed test reporting.
I'm evaluating Snapshots with Xray integration
Read Integration with Xray Test Management for Jira for a one-page overview of what the extension provides — Xray fields on tests levels, the test run level type, and the separate detailed test report macro.
Then, if you want to try it on your own site, install both apps from the Atlassian Marketplace:
-
Snapshots of Jira Data into Confluence (the base app)
-
Snapshots Integration with Xray (Traceability Extensions) (this extension)
Both have free trials. Xray Test Management for Jira is a separate Atlassian Marketplace app from Xpand IT; you'll need it installed on your Jira site.
I'm ready to install and connect Xray
Go to Configuring the Xray connection. It walks an administrator through installing the Traceability Extension on Confluence, generating an Xray API key on the Jira side, and plugging the credentials into Snapshots.
I want to use Xray data in my snapshots
Go to Adding Xray data to snapshots. It covers the Xray-specific fields you can add to any tests level (test type, steps, Gherkin scenarios, preconditions, latest test-run status), and the new test run level type that pulls runs from Xray with their statuses, executors, environments, and step results.
I want to build a detailed test report
Go to Snapshots Test Report macro. This is a separate macro (not a level inside the standard Snapshots macro) for compliance-style detailed test reports — lists tests with their latest runs, including step-by-step results, defects, and evidence images.
Trust and security
Go to Trust, data and security. It explains where snapshot data lives, what infrastructure Snapshots itself uses, how data residency is preserved, and what's involved in backup and migration. The same model applies whether your snapshots are pulling from Jira, Xray, or both.
The full Snapshots manual
The Xray extension is documented as part of the broader Snapshots manual. For everything else — installing the base app, taking your first snapshot, multi-level snapshots, permissions, automation, comparison, exporting to Excel, troubleshooting — go to the main manual:
